SOCIAL STUDIES REQUIREMENTS
I. MATERIALS NEEDED
- Each student needs one folder filled with looseleaf paper, and one notebook. They need to bring the listed materials as well as your covered textbook, pencil, red pen, assignment notebook and a free reading book to class daily.
-Chromebooks will be needed. Make sure they are charged and ready for class each day.
II. EXPECTATIONS
~ Written work will be completed using Google docs or Google Classroom. Some written work will involve worksheets or needs to be completed on loose-leaf paper. No fuzzies allowed! Pencils or erasable pens should be used. Absolutely no permanent ink allowed. Failure to follow this rule on any given assignment results in one warning. Then students will be asked to redo the assignment for credit.
~ COVERED BOOKS- Books will be covered at all times. If a student is reminded to cover their book more than three times they will come in to cover it with Mrs. Ramczyk.
~ LOCKERS- You may visit your locker by using the passes in back of the assignment notebook. If your assignment notebook is in your locker you may get it and lose two passes. If all your passes are used up, and you still need to visit your locker each additional trip will result in five minutes accumulated for each locker trip. This time will be made up at recess. Those who do not use all of their locker passes will be rewarded at the end of each quarter.
~ RESTROOMS- Time will be given either at the beginning or end of each class. Emergencies may occur, but will be kept to a minimum.
~ LATE WORK- Students are expected to complete assigned work on time. Missing, late, and or of poor quality assignments will be noted in JMC. If there is a concerning trend of incomplete assignments, parents will be notified.
~ NOTES- Students will be expected to take notes in their notebooks during class. Notes will often be different reading strategies explained in class. These notes/strategies are important because they will see this material again on their tests. Also, notes may sometimes be used on quizzes.
~ CHEATING- If a student is caught copying or cheating on an assignment, project, test etc., they will need to complete the work again. There may be academic or environmental changes involved. This is at the discretion of the teacher.
-PLAGIARISM- This is not acceptable. Plagiarism is defined as "the practice of taking someone else's work or ideas and passing them off as your own." View the following link for further clarification on plagiarism. https://www.plagiarism.org/article/what-is-plagiarism
